lol, this is my first human model, so it's a bit of a disaster in some areas. It was a bit of a nightmare to get her to move. I have no idea how to do it efficiently, but she kinda moves at least. She's still a little gimpy, but I'll have to retry a better method next time. If anyone has any good modeling and animation sites for blender or some other program, I'd be grateful if you can give me it. I need to learn some of that uv mapping stuff (I think it's called that) too.
Overall, I'm happy with it. I actually managed to complete a human model for once! It's kinda cool to see one of meh characters come to life! I'll do a guy next time.
I was going to enter one of those character battles again, but I took too long. I had a neat little idea to go along with it, but oh well. I guess it's probably a good thing anyway, I've had some bad luck in those things (too little interest and half of my competitors actually submitted something). I did this at least... Cara (the later version) would've been one of my guardians in that contest.
yeah, I'm using blender, but I had to use a lot of tutorials to get her made. What it really just involved was using a reference photo of a front and side view (I actually used a photo of natalie portman) and you just go off of that. If you know some of the main things like selecting and moving vertices and edges or extruding, that's all you really need to follow the tutorials. There are some other things to get some real details down, but the tutorials I used mentioned them at least once. The animation stuff is a bit over my head though; I'll have to find more stuff on it. She looks pretty bad when I move her arms or mouth too much. That blender program has some pretty nifty things considering that it's free.
The thing is...I get to messing with it and do something cool then totally forgot what I did to achieve that. Keep working at it and passing those pointers along with it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
