I didn't come up with the concept (the instructor did), but you could probably suspend it in a canyon or something (maybe use the cables they use on bridges?). This part sounds impractical, but you can slide down one of the cables to get to the entrance in the center of the top and that is where an elevator would be (at least I made a hint of one). I don't know about water and such though.
Now that is a year latter and presumably another year into your program do you still thin 20hrs is a long time???
I'm afraid I didn't go into architecture (I wish I did when I had the chance). Maybe it'll happen later; I'm only 21.
But now that I think about it, 20 hrs wasn't too long when I saw the finished product; it was all worth it. It was great to see how my ideas came together to make this and I never made anything like it, so it was pretty cool to know I could make something like this. I wish I got it back, though!
*mumbles* but that bastard teacher never gave this model back to me!
